ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ  (Definition)

The one who rules (ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) a specific piece of land (ਜਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਟੁਕੜਾ)

Some countries (ਕੁਝ ਦੇਸ਼) have democratic (ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ) way to elect (ਚੌਣ) the leader, and some have monarchy (ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ )

Some kings (ਕਈ ਰਾਜੇ) are very honest (ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ) and deliver best justice (ਨਿਆਂ) and social services (ਸਮਾਜਕ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ) to their citizens (ਨਾਗਰਿਕ)

They are known as King (ਰਾਜਾ), Prime Minister (ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ), President (ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ), Dictator (ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹ) nowadays  (ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ)

ਲੋੜੀਂਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਲਈ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ  (Knowledge Required and Services to Society)

Leader of the nation (ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ) needs to understand (ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ) the law of the country (ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਕ਼ਾਨੂਨ) and needs of the people (ਜਨਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋੜ੍ਹਾਂ)

Purpose (ਮਕਸਦ) of the king (ਰਾਜਾ) is to serve the community (ਜਨਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ) and make sure justice (ਨਿਆਂ) can be delivered to it’s citizens (ਜਨਤਾ )

ਰਾਜੇ ਚੁਲੀ ਨਿਆਵ ਕੀ ਪੜਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ (ਰਾਗ ਸਾਰੰਗ - ਮ : ੧ - ੧੨੪੦)

King can cleanse their mind by giving best justice to it’s citizens, which is the primary function of King. The scholar (the one who reads religious scriptures like Gurbani) should keep focus on TRUTH else all their knowledge is a waste.

ਅੱਛੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ

Noble kings deliver justice to their citizens

ਬੌਧਿਕ ਪੱਧਰ (Intellectual Level) 

Mind that is kind and just towards others
