In physical world (ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) it’s someone who trades (ਵਾਪਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) in killing (ਮਾਰਨਾ), cutting (ਕੱਟਣਾ), and selling (ਵੇਚਣਾ ) the animals (ਜਾਨਵਰ) in the shop (ਦੁਕਾਨ ਵਿਚ)
In spiritual world (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) it’s someone who permanently ignores (ਦਬਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ) the good voice of Jot (ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ) by not following it’s message in life (ਜੀਵਨ ਉਸ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਾ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ)
Butcher as a tradesperson (ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਕਸਾਈ) should have the ability to use hand tools (ਹੱਥੀ ਔਜਾਰ), knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts(ਮਾਸ ਪਕਾਉਣ, ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਕੱਟਣ ਦੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ)
Spiritual butcher (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਕ ਕਸਾਈ) is the one who refuses to adopt or even acknowledge the spiritual knowledge (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਨਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਨੁਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ). At times (ਕਈ ਵਾਰ) may even end up terrifying the society at large (ਸਮਾਜ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਆਤੰਕ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬੱਣਦੇ ਨੇ)
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧੇ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਗਤ ਕਸਾਈ ॥ (ਰਾਗ ਮਾਝ - ਮ : ੩ - ੧੧੭)
The mentally blind who never follow the message of Gurbani in the end become unaware of JOT within themselves. This attitude makes them the assassins of their real self and end up butchering own mental world, which would have led them to peace and bliss.
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਫਰਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੈ
